Defensive Kicking-Defense Against Side Kick
Week 33
1. Knife hand and reverse knife hand strike
Step into a horse ride stance while receiving the attack with the left inner forearm. Execute a right knife hand strike the side of the ankle. Step into a left forward stance and execute a reverse knife hand strike to the neck.
2. Elbow and backfist strike
Step out to the left with the left foot and parry the kick with the left hand. Execute a right elbow strike on the side of thigh and follow through with a right backfist.
3. Heel down kick and roundhouse kick
Step back with the right foot by parrying and hooking the kick with the right hand. Execute a heel down kick to the Os right upper thigh and immediately follow through with a right roundhouse kick.
4. Inside low scoop kick and side kick
Step back with the right foot and execute a X block using the hands. Execute a right low inside scoop kick, rechamber the right leg next to my left leg and then execute a right side kick to Os side of rib.
5. Throw by twisting the ankle
Step forward into a horse ride stance and block from below with the left forearm and reaching up to grab the outside edge of the Os kicking foot. Use the right palm to "cup" the ankle twisting and throwing while stepping in with the right then left foot. The right jok do should then be placed against the left inner ankle applying a pressure point lock on the ankle.
6. Trap and lock the knee with the arm
Step back half step with the right foot and block the kick with the X block. Step in with the left foot and rotate the Os leg (while still maintaining a tight grip) causing it to bend forward. Step in again with the right foot kneeling on the left knee and grab left outside edge of hand with the right hand to provide greater trapping power.
7. Knee trap using the knee
Step back half step with the right foot and block the attack with the hands cupping the Os ankle from above. Pull the opponent's leg back. Raise the left knee and push down the opponent's left with the left shin and trap the leg.
8. One leg sweep
Step out to the front side with the right leg to side step the kick. Catch the Os kick with the right arm from below, cross step in with the left leg and sweep the Os left leg with the right leg. Key is to use the arm to push the opponent's leg up to displace his balance.
9. Pull up and slam down
Step in with the left foot and block from below with the right arm. Turn into a horse ride stance and grab the left collar with the left hand pulling the opponent up then slamming down. Also can execute a left inside low scoop kick when picking up the O.
10. Circular style block and pull down
Step back with the right foot and parry the Os kick with the right hand. Step in with the left foot jumping off of it and spin CW 180 in the air while grabbing the Os top of collar from behind and pulling the O down during the spin.
